- Mixed Media for Creative Sketchbooks
CREATIVE SKETCHBOOKS: A introduction for beginners to learn to use a sketchbook to develop ideas, that you can later use as a starting place for an art piece. A storyboard is the process of gathering and collecting to create a palette which will then help to inform your work. This process will help to eradicate the fear of the ‘blank page’ as you will have already sourced so many ideas to start from. Collecting images and colours that you are really drawn to helps you narrow down your choices and creates uniformity. Gathering this information in one place will help you to develop a colour palette and a theme. From this starting point you will find inspiration. You might find that from your entire collection you are drawn to just one particular image, colour or theme. This is the starting point for your artwork. Using your storyboard, you will experiment with the images you have collected and transfer them to your sketchbook. We will introduce you to many techniques, such as different drawing painting and printing ideas. As a writer who has their notebook, an artist has a 'notebook' of visual ideas to draw upon. This is an introductory day to help you start your sketchbook, and learn about the process. If you enjoy the process and would like to continue developing your sketchbook, you are welcome to join our drop-in sessions on Thursdays. (10-12) 10.30am - 3.00 pm Most materials provided.
