  • Level 2 Interior Design City & Guilds

INTERIOR DESIGN C&G LEVEL 2 AWARD (211) - Design a Loft Space This award in Interior Design covers the wide range of skills that you will need to design interiors. These skills are the basics and are transferable to use in the design of other rooms. It is ideal for anyone from the complete beginner, those wishing to develop their skills and knowledge, and those who are wanting to progress to obtain a strong foundation in this subject area. Interior design is about finding harmony inn a space. It’s about creating the feel of a place - the atmosphere. It should be a fusion of all of our senses - smell, touch, hearing and sight. A good design will affect all of these senses. It is a language to reflect life and lifestyle. In this course you will learn how to create and adjust room designs to compliment a variety of interior styles for a loft space. You will learn about positioning requirements of services such as electrical sockets, safe traffic flow around furniture, furnishings and accessorising a space. You will be able to produce a site survey and sketch various layouts, using scale drawings. (You can use electronic drawing packages for this, and we will be offering an additional tutorial in CAD, but you will be taught how to produce hand-drawn visuals to scale). You will also learn how to estimate time and cost to make the room design. A 12 week course £1140 Monthly payment plan available on request. Please email for details. Parking at Compton Studios Please note there is no parking directly at the venue*. There is on-road parking in the road opposite or in The Avenue where there is a walk way to the studios. • David Chandler - Abstract workshop

Three Ways To Paint an Abstract “What does it mean, jellybean?... Even if I knew, I could only know what I thought it meant.” John Chamberlain (1927-2011) Abstract art may be over one hundred years old as a genre, but it can still baffle and provoke as much as it intrigues and excites. This one-day, practical course in acrylics demystifies the art form by looking at the fundamentals of all painting from an art historical perspective, before guiding participants through the creation of three very different abstract works. Suitable for all abilities and attitudes (from enthusiasts to doubters, to the plain curious), this course is for anyone who wishes to gain more confidence with their colours as well as their brushwork. All materials are provided. It would be good to bring your own brushes. All refreshments are provided. Please bring a packed lunch. Parking Please note there is no parking directly at the venue.
